The rector of the University of Murcia, José Orihuela, defended the importance of public universities during the inauguration of the commemoration of the centenary of the Faculty of Law of this institution, which was held today in the auditorium of the Merced campus .
Orihuela said that a hundred years later, the University of Murcia remains the first choice in town at the time of study and the Faculty of Law in particular a competitive center, internationally oriented and tailored to the demands of modern society.
The rector thanked the President of the Autonomous Community, Alberto Garre, who attended the ceremony, for their efforts to provide the University of Murcia adequate funding and thanked the recent award of the gold medals in the Region law schools and Chemistry, the latter who is 75 years old.
Garre, who closed the ceremony, which has also involved the dean of the center, David Lorenzo Morillas, has called the Faculty of Law as "historical reference" for both Murcia and for the entire national university system.
During the ceremony, which brought together almost all the staff of the Faculty, has recalled two videos to the most emblematic figures who have passed through the center.
