A masterpiece

'St Matthew Passion' is one of the three great works of music history, with the 'Requiem' by Mozart and '9th Symphony' by Beethoven.

Released in 1729, was the largest piece of Johann Sebastian Bach.

It tells the hours before the death of Jesus as presented him Matthew in his Gospel text also is literally sung in some passages in the work.

After the death of the author, both 'The Passion According to St. Matthew' like the rest of his repertoire were forgotten, and it was not until the nineteenth century when Felix Mendelssohn returned to play Bach, returning his work the first art scene.
