The journalist and writer Antonio Botías, official historian of the City of Murcia, proclaiming Saturday morning Easter historical Beniaján in a ceremony to be held in the parish of San Juan from 20.00 pm and will feature performances Group Lyric Novus.

Holy Week Beniaján is considered one of the most beautiful and popular that holds the Municipality of Murcia and which dates back to the late sixteenth century.

Organized by the Board of Fraternities and processions, in collaboration with the Municipal Board, offers lots of proposals from the Friday before Easter Sunday.

Honor Nazarene Easter 2015 Beniaján is embodies Cañavate.

Among the most notable are the processions held on Holy Wednesday, popularly known by the parade of 'sanchezlozano' because all the images that compose it, except one, are the work of renowned sculptor Murcia.

Other authors whose lengths are parading in Beniaján Roque López, Ramón Granell, Jose Ortiz and Garcia Mengual.

Another of the most traditional parades of the parish takes place on Good Friday, known as Holy Burial Procession.

It is the oldest procession and incorporates images that arouse great devotion in Beniaján, including Sorrows Holy Christ and Mary Magdalene, the Virgen Dolorosa, the Lord of the Good Death, St. John the Evangelist and the Virgin of Solitude.

The Crier

Antonio Botías possesses several awards, including the title of official chronicler of Murcia, the Official Proclamation of Semana Santa de Murcia in 2012, the Gold Medal of the Carnival of Cabeza de Torres, the distinction Silversmiths Guild or appointment as Official Town Crier Christmas, Closing the Proclamation of Easter, the Proclamation of the Immaculate and other holidays.

He is also Honorary Brother of the Brotherhood of Blessed Souls of Auroros Patino and Council Member of the Brotherhood of Nuestro Padre Jesus Nazareno.

Meanwhile, responsible for coverage of Easter for the newspaper 'La Verdad', has been honored with the highest awards granted by murcianas brotherhoods (Procesionista of Honor Superior Cabildo, Gold Badge five fraternities, etc ...) and published two books on the subject.

As a presenter and preacher, Antonio Botías has traveled throughout the region, highlighting its interventions in Cieza, Blanca or Yecla, and in various districts and neighborhoods of Murcia (Guadalupe, Cabeza de Torres, La Arboleja, Bacons Bridge, Sangonera la Verde, or neighborhoods of San Juan, Santa Eulalia, San Antón, San Nicolás ...).

Regarding its research output around the history and traditions of Murcia, Antonio Botías has focused his work on the Huerta de Murcia and popular traditions, the study of Murcia heritage, the history of the press in the region, the legacy many famous people, wars, epidemics and floods, Justice and crime, folklore as a means of expression and citizen complaint, the transformation of the city in the last century and historical processes in Murcia implementation of various technologies, including other studies.
