Storytelling in English, reading clubs and cineforum are some of the free activities offered by public libraries (20/03/2015)

Storytelling in English, reading clubs, cineforum, illustration workshops and study skills are some of the proposals Free Municipal Library Network.

The Councillor for Education, Maria Dolores Sánchez, visited the library of El Palmar, which last year celebrated its 30th anniversary.

English theater and storytelling for children is one of the innovations offered by public libraries.

The sessions will be held on March 24 at the library Bacons Bridge for students of CEIP Nuestra Señora del Rosario and painter Ramón Gaya;

March 25, in the library of La Alberca with students from CEIP El Molino and Santo Ángel;

March 26, in the library of El Carmen, with students from CEIP Los Alamos;

and April 23 in the library of St. James, with students from the CEIP James, and Giner.

In addition, loan of books and audiovisual material, libraries organize a host of activities to promote reading in children and adults and 13 book clubs in 12 libraries, two clubs readable in collaboration with Assido and Astrapace in libraries of St. James and St. Basil, and Dumas Club, coordinated by Professor of the University of Murcia José Belmonte, in the Rio Segura library.

Over the years they have participated in book clubs and book presentations writers María Dueñas, Jerónimo Tristante, Paco López Mengual, Pedro Pujante, Lola Lopez Mondejar, Fabian C. Barrio, cartoonist Juan Alvarez, Santiago Delgado, Manuel Madrid, etc.

Children's activities are prominent space.

Smaller enjoy storytelling in local libraries during the months of March, April, May, October and November.

Also for children are designed workshops to children's illustrator illustration Katarzyna Rogowicz to be held in the libraries of El Palmar, Cabeza de Torres, La Alberca, San Basilio, James, and Río Segura (Artillery Barracks).

The youngest of the house enjoy a course of study techniques -for high school and baccalaureate in José Saramago (The Fame) library and workshops and chess games in the library of El Palmar and San Basilio coinciding with the holiday periods.

The River Segura library also has since 2009 with cineforum.

All libraries perform special activities Book Day, April 23, related to reading, lectures, storytelling, etc.

In addition, libraries of El Palmar and La Alberca last year celebrated its 30th anniversary and the Segura River celebrates its tenth anniversary with an exhibition of painting, illustration workshop, photocall with the mascot of the library, librarians contest selfies and a jazz concert during the month of May.
