The regional director Pedro Antonio Sánchez today highlighted the cultural activity carried out by the University of Murcia to receive 5,000 books this educational institution has given bound for libraries in the region.
During the ceremony, held at the building of convalescence, home of the Chancellor, the Minister said that "it is impossible to imagine the region without taking into account the contributions made by the University throughout its hundred years of history."
"Even in difficult and challenging times, it has always been there, as one of the most important institutions of the Region of Murcia, in an impeccable track record of commitment to our community," he noted.
For its part, the rector, José Orihuela, thanked the presence of Pedro Antonio Sánchez in the building of the Rectory and recalled that it looked further enhanced by its recent proclamation as candidate for the Presidency of the Autonomous Community.
In the event, which was also attended by, among others, the President of the Board of the University, Javier Ruano, and the general director of Cultural Property, Maria Comas, has also intervened the Vice Chancellor of Communication and Culture, José Antonio Gómez.
Gomez explained that fifty lots delivered today, with 100 copies each, containing books published by the publishing University (Editum) on literature, theater, regional history, art and other subjects.
