The 102 students of the CEIP Nuestra Señora de las Mercedes, Puebla de Soto, -41 and 61 Child-primary premiered a new school after the conclusion of the construction works have started today, and whose laying of the foundation stone was attended by the Mayor of Murcia, Miguel Angel House, and the Minister of Education, Universities and Employment, Pedro Antonio Sánchez.
Also attended the ceremony were the president of the Municipal Board of the hamlet, Francisco Galera, and Council Lola Sanchez, Juan Antonio Barnabas and Alicia Barquero.
The construction of new public school kindergarten and primary, promoted by the Autonomous Community, expected to be completed during 2016/17 and will involve an investment of 1.4 million euros.
The project has been agreed with the educational community of Puebla de Soto.
The center, equipped with an area of ​​2,000 m2, will replace the old school, dating from the early 70s and was tired.
The new school will offer two educational lines, with 3 classrooms for children, a common and versatile space of 60 square meters, as well as their corresponding toilets.
The primary module has 6 classrooms, classrooms complementary activities reinforcement, a multipurpose space of 120 meters, a library and other multipurpose rooms.
It is planned also building a sports court and spaces reserved for 20 parking spaces.
The new Lady of Mercy College will be 100% accessible and have the proper thermal and acoustic insulation.
