77 This is the biggest center of town

"The commitment we have with the biggest is what leads us to maintain the investment to continue building, expanding or renovating social centers for them."

The Mayor, Miguel Angel House, which has this morning presided over the inauguration of the new building, has stressed the importance of "opening more and better centers where seniors are ideal facilities in which to conduct their activities, enjoy a living space and essentially Participatory ".

The Mayor was accompanied at the opening by the Deputy Mayor of Social Welfare and Health, María del Carmen Pelegrin, and President of the Municipality of San José de la Vega, Alvaro Corbalan, plus numerous partners, including its president, Antonio Ayala.

The new building is operational now occupies almost 600 square meters and replaces the previous one, which had become too small given the increase of partners and did not qualify for optimal use.

The investment made by the City Council in the construction and equipment amounted to 714,857 euros.

The center, located at San Manuel, has one floor, and is equipped auditorium, cafeteria, lounge and generally multipurpose room, reading room, chiropody, hairdressing and central courtyard.

Thus, the partners have a larger place to practice a full program of activities that the Department of Social Welfare organized in order to improve the quality of life of its members.

At the center of all activities will be held: sports, leisure, relaxation and health improvement, plus it will be an ideal place for neighbors and friends living together.

Specifically, the new center offers courses in ballroom dancing and every Saturday afternoon involved and dances.

In its cultural week, celebrating the second week of November, celebrating championships typical games, lectures, convivial meal and other leisure activities such as theater, dances and musical performances.

San José de la Vega has a population of 4,300 inhabitants, of whom 480 are members of the senior center.
