The Spanish Association Against Cancer Murcia announces a contest for micro short-circuits (05/03/2015)

The Spanish Association Against Cancer in collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare presented the 'To Be or Not to Be' Festival.

The festival has the general purpose social education on various diseases and dedicated each edition to one.

Under the slogan '12 months, A Cause ', the first edition was dedicated to the theme of Alzheimer while this year will focus on cancer and its impact.

The aim is also to raise funding for various projects undertaken by the association.

Micro short-circuits may be submitted to the contest from any country and in any language, provided they are subtitled in Spanish language and not more than three minutes.

Entries can be made in any audiovisual format, including videos made with mobile terminals, and also may participate stories that have been awarded in other competitions before.

With this contest organizers try, first, to encourage audiovisual creativity enhancing the use of audiovisual techniques in therapies to help understand the disease, its prevention or treatment and other sensitize the general public about the disease of cancer and family and social impact of it.

The deadline runs from January 1 until August 31, 2015. The participant must upload the video via YouTube or Vimeo and then send the link of it to the email info@seronoserfestival.es together a work sheet that can be downloaded on the competition website.

The micro short-circuits in the credits must include the logo of the festival, which can be downloaded from the same site.

The awards are divided into three categories, with a first prize of 1500 euros and award the best micro movie "Pulse", a second prize of 1,000 euros for best director and "Impulse" award and a third with the amount of 1000 euros to the better interpretation and "Impulse" award.

The manner of election of the winners will be made by a double method.

Once the admission of films for the competition closed, there will be a month for short staying on the web

www.seronoserfestival.es can vote for anyone who wants it, assuming twenty percent of the decision.

The other eighty percent remaining will be issued by a jury of renowned in the audiovisual sector who, in turn, will make the preliminary selection for the contest.

One member already confirmed for this jury, which will serve as president himself is known Benito Rabal, son of actors Francisco Rabal and Asunción Balaguer.

To celebrate the Festival, on Saturday March 21 will take place on 'Be or Not to Be' concert at Sala Gamma Murcia with performances by Los Marañones, Grrr !, Emilio Chicherri, Le Poisson Volant, Los Raw, Cotton Blues, Tulsa Rock and Jose Philemon.

Tickets can be purchased for a price of 10 euros in Traffic Records, Records comix and the very Spanish Association Against Cancer located in Calle Miguel Vivancos.

The money raised from ticket sales will go to the association.

In other parallel activities include a panel discussion during the month of September on 'The disease of cancer in the audiovisual medium' with directors, actors and writers;

the projection of the papers to contest the October 15 and the final gala 'Impulse' on October 17th with the awards to the winners and live.

These recent events will take place at the Regional Film.
