The Romea Theatre will host the XXII edition of the Flamenco Summit of Murcia (03/03/2015)

The Flamenco Summit of Murcia held this month its XXII edition with a series of actions and activities that take place in the Romea Theatre.

The project proposes two dimensions based, first, on the actions of consecrated figures and new flamenco;

and secondly, in a series of workshops, exhibitions and conferences that bring the public the culture of flamenco.

The central programming of the summit will star Farruquito, who will present his show 'Improvisao' in the Romea next March 19, from 21 am.

The Andalusian artist will receive for this edition the 'Patriarch Flamenco' award, a prize of reference within flamenco other years have been artists like Vicente Amigo and Miguel Poveda.

The performances will begin on Wednesday, March 18 with the staging of the Murcia Dance Company will present its show 'Flamenco with Essence'.

The March 20 will take place the performances of the Archangel and Jeromo de Segura Huelva.

Both are recognized in the world of singing and dancing and participated alongside the likes of José Mercé artists.

The performances of the summit will end on March 21 with the show 'Eternal Shrimp', in which a cast of singers, dancers and flamenco musicians pay tribute to Camarón de la Isla, under the direction of Javier Latorre and Eduardo Trassierra.

All performances will begin at 21 am and will take place in the Romea.

This new edition of the summit also hosts the series 'La Guitarra Flamenca', which began last February 24 and runs until March 17, in the Hall of Mirrors at the Romea Theatre.

The cycle will host today from 20 am conference 'Paco de Lucía: family portrait with guitar' by Juan Jose Tellez and an illustrated lecture entitled 'The miners touches' by Carlos Piñana, on 17 March.

Both events include flamenco recitals.
