After two days of work at the Catholic University of Murcia, the universities participating in the project ESTPORT 'European Sports Tutorship model for the dual career of athlete' established lines of work that will continue in the coming months to develop and transfer model Sports tutoring UCAM the rest of Europe.
In this project, led by the UCAM and funded by the European Union, participating universities and institutions in the UK (Leeds Trinity University and Europe Limited Community Foundation), Italy (Università degli Studi di Roma 'Foro Italico), Greece (University of Thessaly) and Malta (Universitá ta'Malta).
Antonio Sánchez Pato, dean of the Faculty of Sport, was pleased by the result of this first contact and stressed that "universities visited are committed to introduce the figure of sports tutor in the next academic year . The calendar marks that "we will have future meetings in Rome and Malta and finally in 2017 we will organize an event in the UCAM with universities that have participated but also invite sports institutions of higher to finish all the work you're doing."
One of the universities participating in this project is the Università degli Studi di Roma "Foro Italico" with which the UCAM has already narrowed strong ties to other projects.
Emanuele Isidori, representative of the Italian university, showed very excited about this project that has just begun. Great facilities, thirteen own university teams competing in leagues, over 500 athletes in college, a tutoring system based on personalization and specific academic center for athletes are some of the strengths of the University of Auburn.
