López paralyze the branch of the tram to the UCAM as ineffective and wasteful (28/01/2015)

The spokesman and socialist candidate for mayor of Murcia announces that not execute the tramline to the neighborhood of El Carmen because it is unsustainable and will launch a new map of lines with a new system of financing and operating

The spokesperson and candidate for mayor of Murcia, Pedro López, has echoed today from a study of the OCU which puts Murcia as the town "with public transport worst score."

A fact that the Socialist Group has been reporting for years, also ratified by the Organization of Consumers and Users.

An expensive and discriminatory public transport with an obsolete operation;

and a tram that costs 11 million euros a year.

In this sense, López reports that, since last March, the company that manages the tram is claiming the City a 10% increase to make up for the imposition of Finance with VAT assessments.

In evidence

A complaint continues the socialist candidate denies the Consistory claiming he reasons that leave bare the problems the tram, found in a report by the city where it is recognized that there was an extra cost of construction or lines are not achieving their objectives rating.

And in the case of the branch to the Catholic University - regrets López-on which the PP does not provide us with data, despite repeated requests, this is a real nonsense.

"It costs 5,000 euros per day, nearly 2 million per year and still continues to operate with little travelers".

A bloody reality that, according to the spokesperson and candidate for mayor, must end.

First conducting an audit of the line to see if the data are confirmed;

and if confirmed shortage rating paralyze "as ineffective and wasteful" renegotiating its usefulness and extending it to the districts of Javalí Viejo and La Nora, which are a few kilometers and would serve nearly 7,000 people;

and to the town of Sewell.

Similarly, Lopez announced that "if the PSOE governs in La Glorieta not execute the tramline to El Carmen because, according to the data, the profitability of the tram is in doubt, especially in the current economic circumstances."

Finally, the Socialist candidate has again reiterated the urgent need to carry out a complete reorganization of the public transport system in Murcia, a new map of lines with a new system of non-discriminatory funding;

and performance, more modern and effective.
