The sixth edition of IBAFF, which began in 2010 as an initiative of the Centre for Contemporary Culture Puertas de Castilla, was held from 3 to 8 March and will have 3 different projection spaces: Circus Theatre, rooms A and B of the Film Regional and Cultural Hall of the CAM.

Among the new features this year include increasing the number of films, organized in the Official Section, Suburbs or Honorary Award, exceed one hundred and come from over 30 countries.

Within the official section have been selected as finalists over thirty films competing for the awards in the categories of feature film (10) short film (16) and debut (13).

In addition, more than fifty parallel projections activities will be developed.

These include meetings between programmers and film critics, young IBAFF meetings in more than twenty secondary schools and colleges in the Region of Murcia or activities of the popular jury of 30 citizens genre lovers big screen.

Another innovation is that some of the films scheduled to be displayed in 'cinema' outdoors on the street Basabé Murcia, since the walls of the surrounding buildings will become a large projection screen and paving this pedestrianized street will host a makeshift stalls.

Starring Klaus Eder visit will be the president of the International Federation of film critics (FIPRESCI) will receive the honorary prize of the festival and also participate in one of our next meetings of debate among film critics and programmers.

The jury, composed of 9 critics and programmers prestigious award a prize for best feature (4,500 euros), Best Short Film (1,500 euros) and Best Debut (3,000 euros).

On 8 March, during the closing gala hosted by the Teatro Circo de Murcia, was also awarded the Young IBAFF Prize and the Audience Award.

All these features consolidated at IBAFF as one of the must-have for lovers of cinema appointments within the international arthouse circuit since it started its journey in 2010.
