One hundred people attended this afternoon at the First Conference of Industrial Tourism in the Region of Murcia, organized by the Spanish company Turinde, housed at the Center for Municipal Initiatives Murcia (CIM-M).
The conference is aimed at all stakeholders in participation, promotion and dissemination of regional industrial tourism activities.
Among the companies and institutions are: Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, Murcia City Hall, Operators Association of Industrial Tourism (Aoti), Chamber of Commerce of the Region of Murcia, Confederation of Employers of the Region of Murcia (CROEM) Organization of Business and Professional Women of Murcia (OMEP), Murcia Association of Family Enterprise (AMEFMUR), among others.
The Industrial tourism involves visits to companies active and whole industrial heritage.
Thus it offers visitors a related products, production processes, business history, activities carried out in it experience, etc.
For over one hundred years ago are organized visits to industrial chocolate factories in France cheese in the Netherlands or, for example, the visit to the Jack Daniels distillery in Tennessee in USA
dating from 1866.
The interest of tourists for this type of activity is due to their attraction to the culture, to learn, to know the economic heritage of an area and even his fascination with traditional activities in some cities or crowded spots are totally lost and forgotten .
The First Day of Industrial Tourism in the Region of Murcia has started at 17.30 with the participation of José María Tortosa, Councilman Employment, Trade and Enterprise, who has spoken of entrepreneurship and the creation of new businesses in the municipality of Murcia.
At 1800 hours the president of the Association of Industrial Tourism Operators, Josep Maria Pey, explain all the benefits, travel and the future of industrial tourism.
Their experience and knowledge internationally in industrial tourism, makes it one of the most recognized personalities on the national scene in this area.
Then, Juan Angel Martinez, director of the Office of Tourism Marketing Institute of Tourism of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, which discussed the situation of industrial tourism in the region.
After his speech, Beatriz Luque, CEO and founding partner of Turinde, show some routes and tours of success offered by this company to the public.
At 1915 hours, Isabel Sánchez Serrano, president of the Association of Murcia family business (AMEFMUR), will discuss the existing competitive value in visits to companies.
Leonor Garcia, director of Experience 43 Liquor 43, and José Andrés Elgarresta, communications manager Dock Cartagena - Navantia, try to bring the public the whole range of leisure available in both entities.
At 20.00 hours will be held the last of the papers that will discuss the enhancement of heritage and resources (industrial, food, crafts, etc.) of the Region of Murcia.
It will involve the manager of the Union Mining Park, Manuel Baron, and Francisco Javier Martínez, General Director of Bodegas Luzon.
Finally, at 20.30 will proceed to the closing of the First Conference on Industrial Tourism in the Region of Murcia Murcia with a tasting of products of different brands and companies on the industrial tourism.
