López committed to minimizing privatization and use the money for policies that create jobs in Murcia (14/01/2015)

The spokesman and socialist candidate for mayor defends the need to conduct a thorough reform of local government based on the recovery of public services, auditing of large contracts and the implementation of a Code of Good Practice for private companies managing public services

The spokesman and candidate of the Socialist Group for mayor of Murcia, Pedro López, emphasizes its firm commitment to make a radical change in the municipal administration based on three pillars.

"We must improve efficiency, regain legitimacy Hall and move towards formulas banish the darkness and opacity after years of PP government."

For this, the first of the pillars on which Lopez falls is the recovery of public services that are now in private hands and are mortgaging the future municipal budgets.

"I am convinced that the management of certain essential services should return to the city and have to be managed by officials working in the home, such as tax management, citizen services, certain external consultants, among others."

Common sense

In this sense, the Socialist candidate reorders the local government a little common sense and do not follow awarding contracts lastren municipal coffers a few months before the municipal elections.

Audit big contracts

The second of the pillars on which the Socialist candidate emphasizes is conducting audits of major contracts to check their level of compliance.

"We spent huge sums on maintaining these contracts and it is our obligation to check whether the objectives are met and obtained results in line with the money invested."

Code of Practice

The third pillar refers to the creation of a Code of Practice for private companies that manage public services or have administrative concessions to hire workers under the principles of equality, merit, ability and publicity, which is fulfilled collective agreements and other labor laws, to report on the relationship between workers and their wages, and hiring services exceeding 10% of the value of the work, service or concession made by public and prior notice report to the Board of Trade.
