IU-Greens welcomes protect the environment BIC Jeronimos (13/01/2015)

The spokesman for IU-Greens in the city of Murcia, Esther Herguedas, today welcomed the decision of the Litigation Division of the Superior Court of Justice (TSJ) of the Region of Murcia dismissing the litigation brought by the team Government against the delimitation of a Cultural Los Jeronimos environment.

Herguedas, who has described this decision as a "setback" to the claims of the mayor, Miguel Angel House, and President of the Catholic University San Antonio (UCAM), José Luis Mendoza, of "extending the brick at all costs and a victory for all those who have expressed the need to protect the environment and property against the advance of speculation ".

The mayor noted that this ruling will force the council to "put the batteries" with regard to actions in this environment and which has proved, in his opinion, "much permissiveness".

"Examples include the redevelopment of the UCAM classrooms that were practically completed when they were granted planning permission, or if the shooting down overnight in the El Corralazo, nineteenth century property protected by the catalog that was on the grounds that the City Council has given the UCAM ".

Herguedas recalled that this fact was not banned at the time, although United Left-Greens filed a motion in plenary claiming compliance with the law and had to be makeshift and punishment four years later, "when contradictions have emerged in the literature in which the license for work done in this area is called ".

The same applies to the placement of advertising signs and poles like giant dominates the entrance of the UCAM, according to the councilor.

He also stressed that this ruling represents an advance on the second contentious that the City has raised by the demarcation of a BIC and, therefore, must be prepared to wait a similar solution in their claim for reduction of environment Wheel of La Nora.

Finally, has claimed that all mechanisms to protect the BIC environment and to value those landscape elements which has defined this monumental setting is activated, implying an effective protection of orchards that are south of the monastery and detailed review of the Special Plan the UCAM is planning to implement land "that gave the City".
