Due to the existence of many crosswalks that either do not have fords or do not comply with the VIV Order (technical document basic conditions of accessibility and non-discrimination for accessing and using developed public spaces), the Department of Quality Urbana with the Equality and disabled associations have created a plan aimed at renewing partial or totally pedestrian fords of the center of the city to allow better overall accessibility in Murcia.

The procedure consists of totally demolish 400 fords and partially around 500 to rebuild to meeting the conditions imposed by legislation (pavement and earrings suitable, mainly).

The budget for this project is 240,948.29 euros and is expected to begin work before the end of the year extending over a period of three months.
