The Social Council of the University of Murcia make a macrosurvey students to voice their concerns (27/11/2014)

The Social Council of the University of Murcia, who chairs Javier Ruano, perform a macro-students to voice their concerns and especially to prioritize those aspects that affect their college preparation, and curricular practices and guidance.

Ruano initiative discussed today during the plenary that this body was held at the Convalescence building, home of the Chancellor, which has advanced to the survey preparation meetings will be held with the Council of University Students and student associations, among other groups.

The methodology used, he said, will be the same as that used by the Centre for Sociological Research (CIS), adding that before Christmas previous contacts will be developed.

The President of the Board pointed out that "institutions have an obligation to help and serve the people, listen and prioritize their actions as they claim".

It has also advanced that soon will be a Health Care Forum, derived from meeting recently held with representatives of the deans teams of Medicine and Pharmacy and has shown the desirability of creating a "hot spots" in the centers so that there is fluid communication between the student and the employer.

During the plenary session has been informed about the latest activities carried out in the line of transparency implanted in the Council, among which are those related to improvements on the website and opening accounts on Facebook and Twitter.

It has also approved the budget of this body for next year, rising to 240,275 euros, and the beginning of the meeting has taken over as a vocal teacher Gloria Alarcón.

Moreover, the rector of the University, José Orihuela, expressed his concern at the limited funding that have this educational institution in 2015, commenting that the contribution made by the Autonomous Community barely comes to meet the payroll.

Orihuela expressed his hope that by way of amendments to the draft budget, discussed these days in the Regional Assembly can improve the situation, which he described as "complicated and difficult".
