The Chairman of the Board of the University of Murcia considers it necessary to listen to the university and their views taken into account when designing their performances
The Social Council of the University of Murcia has approved in full today conducting a macroconsulta among students of the University of Murcia with which aims to define and prioritize the main concerns of academics in an open list.
Javier Ruano believes that "we must listen to college to run more efficiently improvement actions."
The Chairman of the Social Council explained that this consultation is framed within its action plan recently approved unanimously specifically regarding "communication with their environment" and stressed that both the Rector and President of the Student Council have shown their full support to this initiative.
Ruano has explained in detail the procedure, noting that the goal is to engage in the process, the university community for this pioneering initiative at the University of Murcia has the greatest possible impact.
It proposes to organize an assembly meeting with the Student Council, Faculty all delegates and members of the various associations of students to be convened in the coming days.
At that meeting the main concerns of the university will be defined in an open list, and following the methodology of the CIS, later proceed to the realization of the inquiry in which students prioritize those aspects that affect their university, such preparation as the organization of curriculum practices, vocational guidance, further training, etc.
Ruano expressly acknowledged the collaboration of the Student Council and hopes that together with the various associations of students and the communication unit of the University are able to achieve the highest possible degree of participation in the consultation.
The Social Council wants to use the information obtained to promote, within its competence, the most appropriate actions to meet the real needs of students for their future professional opportunities.
About the consultation has concluded "that the institutions have an obligation to help and serve the people, listen and prioritize their actions as claiming they need."
Also, it has been reported other issues discussed as the next organizing a Health Care Forum derivative meeting held a few days ago with the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Associate Dean of Pharmacy and the constitution of a committee of experts human resources to improve the employability of students.
The commission proposed creating hot spots in faculties for a more agile, direct and personal communication between the student and the employer.
The experts stressed the need to ensure proficiency in English at the end of college and offered to establish a program of stay of teachers in companies.
Finally, the implementation of the communication strategy of the Social Council to make it more visible in social networks and closer to society was announced.
