Inocencio Arias: "The international community has reacted late to the Islamic State" (25/11/2014)

The diplomat stressed the UCAM the great increase in the number of suicide bombers in recent years

The Ambassador of Spain, Inocencio Arias, said this morning at the Catholic University of Murcia, to mark the start of the First Conference on International Terrorism and security in southern Europe, the lack of collaboration in intelligence services themselves the states has repeatedly hampered the fight against terrorism.

Arias also stressed that "Islamic terrorism will continue for quite some time", yet has clarified that "Islam is a religion of peace".

Financing of Terrorism

Another aspect on which spoke Inocencio Arias was the means of financing of international terrorism, which highlighted the oil and paying states for hostage rescue.

He also stressed that neighboring countries to the Islamic state does not put enough control over the distribution of oil with which subsidize their terrorist activity.

The ambassador also emphasized the great increase that has taken in recent years the number of suicide bombers, and stressed the fact that more and more women.

At the opening also involved the president of the UCAM, José Luis Mendoza, who stressed that "you can not use the name of God to commit terrorist acts" in reference to jihadism.

Meanwhile the coordinator of this conference, Colonel Alberto Gallego said that the issues to be discussed at this event are intended to promote "a culture of security and defense," which is so strongly promoted by the Government.

Gallego apostille that "still, remember that the safety of our society, our country is up to each and every one of us."

Nuclear, radiological, biological and chemical weapons of mass destruction as the intelligence services, and the legal framework for combating terrorism in Spain and its European environment threat are other issues to be analyzed in this conference.

The panel of speakers worth noting the participation of the Head of Group Information Guardia Civil de Murcia, Tomás Pérez Gil, General of the Air Force, Ruben C. Garcia Servet and President of the Catholic Union of Journalists of Spain, Rafael Benito.

The day will continue this afternoon from 16:00 with the presentation "The nuclear threat, radiological, biological and chemical (NRBC) as weapons of mass destruction (WMD).

On Wednesday continue the event will close at 13: 45h.
