Internet has been the theme chosen this year, both from the point of view of the risks to children as an instrument for the defense of human rights.

Then, accompanied by House, students have joined the event organized by UNICEF in Belluga to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child.

174 students in grades 5 and 6 of primary schools in the municipality four have returned to star in a sitting today at City Hall to discuss and claim their rights.

The event, which has been repeated since 1997, takes place in the events organized by the Department of Education to commemorate the Day of the Rights of Children and Girls.

The Mayor and ceded the presidency to the students who took the floor to discuss their rights and issues that are of interest.

The celebration of this child plenary Coordinated by the Department of Education, is part of the set of activities that are part of the Memorial Rights Week of Children and Girls held each year the city of Murcia.

25 years of the treaty

Once the ceremony at the Plenary Hall, both students and the Mayor have moved to the Plaza del Cardenal Belluga to join the event organized by UNICEF to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the treaty, which outlines the rights of children and represents the first international instrument ratified -and most of history which recognizes children as holders of their own rights.

The Mayor, Miguel Angel House, took the floor after the Vice UNICEF Regional Committee of Murcia, Andrew Mecca, by reading an article of the Convention.
