The delegation of students from the Faculty of Arts at the University of Murcia today presented the rector of the institution, José Orihuela, the amount raised during the course supportive activities undertaken by them, which reached 5,000 euros.
The money donated will go, by decision of the Delegation to the fund to the University of Murcia helps pay tuition for students in economically disadvantaged, as reported by the Vice Chancellor for Students, Miguel Angel Perez, who has announced that in spring the next call for social scholarships are published.
The Student, as explained their representatives during the event, which was developed in the House of Arts, decided five years ago that the full economic benefit from their actions was intended to NGOs and other initiatives such solidarity.
The donated amount has been obtained from, among other activities, the sale of the calendar with professors of the Faculty, the collection of caps, the book market, solidarity and international meals week in which developed countries other dishes offered Erasmus student at the University.
At the check presentation ceremony was attended by the Dean of the Faculty, Pascual Cantos, who referred to the Student as a role model and one of the signs that distinguishes this university.
Finally, the rector thanked Orihuela students of Letters for his gesture and showed hope to increase, with the involvement of the administration, the amount of the fund, which last year helped nearly 500 college.
