Miguel Angel House received the Silver Medal of the Federation of Scouts of Texas |
The Mayor, Miguel Angel House, opened this morning at the Garden Silk a new sculpture commemorating the centenary of Scouting in the Region of Murcia.
The work is a collaboration between the city of Murcia, the Scouts Scout Federation Murcia (ASDE) and the Local Youth Council.
The presentation of this new sculpture, in bronze, was attended by representatives of all the Scout groups in the region, led by the President of the ASDE Federation, Jose Antonio Nieto, and President of the Youth Council, Fran Sanchez also the Minister of Presidency and Employment, José Gabriel Ruiz, and councilors of the City of Murcia.
Miguel Angel House has also received during the act the Silver Medal of the Federation of Scouts of Murcia, which was granted unanimously at the conclusion of the Federal Assembly Scout last year.
This award recognizes the extraordinary cooperation from the Mayor and in appreciation for his continued support to Scouting.
The work depicts a young scout and shows all the attributes of the attire of the members of this movement (uniform, bag, flag, medals ...).
It is located next to a playground and facing Carrascoy.
The siting in the garden Silk has been proposed by the Federation, because in that environment was held last Scout Song Festival.
Similarly, the place will become a center of attraction for members of the Movement for the celebration of all their actions.
The Mayor said that the Chamber celebrate this anniversary demonstrates the vitality of Scouting in our region, an institution known for her dedication to the education of generations of young Murcia, who have kept the flame lit proudly Scouting in most municipalities.
