Users Astrapace Assido and participating in clubs in Easy Reading Municipal Library (15/11/2014)

The library project coordinators have exposed their experience in the Easy Reading Second Meeting held in October in Madrid |

Twenty Assido users and participate in Astrapace Easy Reading Clubs in municipal libraries of St. Basil and St. James the Greater in order to encourage the habit of reading while favoring integration.

This initiative has been launched this year and has been very successful.

In the library of St. James involved youth between 25 and 40 years of Astrapace.

They meet on a biweekly basis and each session lasts an hour and a half.

Easy Reading Club Library San Basilio attend youth aged 20 to 24 participating in the Creative Writing Workshop Assido.

They meet once a month and the session lasts an hour and a half.

Education Councilwoman Maria Dolores Sanchez explained that this meant that young people enjoy reading, they acquire new social skills, to exercise memory, providing more autonomy and open the library to groups that are unusual.

The books that are working to meet your needs and are of the Kalafate collection, easy reading, Almadraba publisher.

They are available for loan at the Municipal Library Network.

Among other titles, have read 'The Jungle Book' by Rudyard Kipling, 'Around the World in 80 Days "by Jules Verne and" Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde "Stevenson.

Besides reading and book review, conducted dynamic activities such as watching videos related to the book, working with maps, songs, pictures, biographies of authors, performing crafts, etc.

Easy Reading materials are books, documents, websites, etc., made with special care for people with reading disabilities can read and understand.

30% of the population have reading difficulties.

The coordinators of these two workshops librarians readable, Maria Teresa Díez García Valverde and Fanny Toni Sabater, participated in the Second Meeting of Easy Reading 'Read, share, grow' held in Madrid on 24 and 25 October to present their experience with these new Reading Clubs.
