New edition of the National Contest of music bands' Ciudad Murcia' (13/11/2014)

The City of Murcia, through the Department of Culture, performed the national pageant XXIV bands 'Ciudad de Murcia' to be held on 15 and 16 November at the Teatro Romea Murcia.

A total of six participating bands: three of them are third (up to 50 musicians, including a maximum collaboration of five performers) and the other of First Section (from 71 to 90 musicians, including a maximum collaboration of six performers).

In addition to free play, all bands will be required to interpret a composer of the Murcia region in order to promote their work: Stamps Lorquina Benito Lauret in Section III;

The Island of Light and Jose Alberto Pina on the First Section.

Third Section bands are:

Municipal -Sociedad Cehegín: Directed by Rafael González García in 2013 won first prize in the third section of the National Music Band Contest "City of Murcia.

Musical Union -Sociedad Horadada (Alicante) is director Eduardo José Zaragoza Blanes.

This young group won the fourth section of Provincial XLII Contest Bands in Alicante (2013) and earned a second place in the fourth section of XXXV Band Contest Valencia.

Artistic Musical -Societat D'Alcàntera of Xuquer (Valencia) Luis Pedron French is the director.

In February 2013 he won second prize in the Contest of Music Festera Altea la Vella (Alicante)

In Section participates:

Musician -Association Cultural Eldense Sta.Cecilia (Alicante) is director Jaume Fornet Ausina, under whose direction this association was awarded first prize in the "International Contest of Bands Vila of Senia 'in 2014.

- The Musical Art Society Fontiguerense Lira (Valencia) currently headed by Luis Pedron French, received the 2001 First Prize at the XI National Contest of bands Ciudad de Murcia (Second Section), when its director was Francisco Javier Martínez Martínez.

-Agrupación Musical Youth of Cabeza de Torres (Murcia): The principal is Andrés Pérez Barnabas.

In 2008 he won the First Prize in the First Section at the XVIII National Contest of Bands of Murcia, in addition to the runners (lower immediate rewards Award) for 'Best Band of the Region of Murcia.

In the first section of the awards are: 2,100, 1,700 and 1,300 euros for first, second and third prize respectively.

In the third section the awards are: 1500, 1300 and 1100 euros for the first, second and third prize respectively.

The jury, on a proposal from the Federation of Bands in the Region of Murcia, is composed of Juan Jesus Lopez Sandoval (conductor, educator and researcher), Miguel Enrique Tena Peris Medetena (conductor, composer, teacher, and saxophonist) and Ismael Enguídanos Jaime Royo (conductor).

The event 'Ciudad de Murcia' is one of the most important nationally, as evidenced by the high number of requests for participation from various parts of the country.

The Department of Culture and demonstrates its commitment to the Federation of bands and musical groups in the municipality, which subsidizes annually with more than 70,000 euros.
