The Garaulet professor in her new book teaches how to get kids to eat right (13/11/2014)

On Monday, the 17th, Professor of Physiology at the University of Murcia Marta Garaulet presents his book "Eat well your son?" A play based on science but is packed with practical ideas to apply to our children.

The presentation, which will be led by José Antonio Lozano Teruel and José García Martínez, will take place at the Cultural Hall Cajamurcia, at 20:00.

I wanted to get a dietary treatment that was useful for adults, and especially for me, because I always had some extra kilos. However, things have changed in my life. I have three children and has been a personal need which has led me to apply the method Garaulet Children " explains.

About the author

Marta Garaulet Aza PhD in Pharmacy and nutritionist and Master of Public Health from Harvard University, USA

Currently he is Professor of Physiology at the University of Murcia and is part of the Research Group on Nutrition of the institution.

His teaching and research has always been related to nutrition issues, particularly on obesity, publishing more than 150 scientific articles in top journals in the world, such as the "American Journal of Clinical Nutrition," the "International Journal of Obesity" The "Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism" or "Current Opinion in Lipidology" among others.

Among his publications are the books "Lose weight without miracles" "Obesity: Causes and Consequences", "Lose Weight Without Losing Your Mind", "535 recipes to lose weight eating" and "eating children".

He has appeared in over one hundred national and international conferences, supporting its scientific production.

Currently, his research focuses on chronobiology and obesity.

Here since May 2012 is "Visiting Professor" of medicine at Harvard University, where she works in the Division of Sleep Medicine in collaboration with Professor Frank Scheers in the relationship between sleep, biological rhythms and obesity.

Among other merits the author has made and / or on the steering committee of several scientific societies such as the Spanish Society for the Study of Obesity (SEEDO) and the Spanish Nutrition Foundation (FEN), being also relevant academic at the Royal Academy Medical Murcia.

In 2012 he received the European award "Nutrition and Santé" for his career in the field of endocrinology and the treatment of obesity, and more recently Dr. Gregorio Marañón award for best food scientist in 2012, granted by the Royal Academy of Gastronomy and the Brotherhood of the Good Table.
