The great sculptor José Plans will have a foundation that will recover and will value its heritage and formidable sculptural path (11/11/2014)

Boost your legacy and promote his work, cataloging it and bring its production to society.

These are the objectives of a new foundation that is responsible for promoting the figure of one of the largest Murcia sculptors of all time: Jose Plans.

The institution, which begins its journey in the coming weeks, will be held at the Cultural Center Puertas de Castilla, following an agreement reached with the city of Murcia.

The idea of ​​creating a foundation has been given by the grandson of sculptor José Planes, legatee of much of the sculptural work of the author, and an important document archive that holds thousands of documents relating to the Generation of 27 unpublished photographs, of which they were part Murcia great intellectuals.

The sculptor José Plans, with only seventeen began his artistic career in a carpentry workshop, where he soon proved to be a great carver and creator.

Completed his degree in Fine Arts, focused on the production of works of profane subject, focusing on realism, to lead, inspired by Picasso and Gris cubist pieces.

After the Civil War, Plans focused its work on religious works, but in the fifties he returned to secular work, this time embodied in splendid stylized pieces.

Production of Murcia author is spread across five continents and has received praise from the most important sculptors of the twentieth century.
