Daimon, the Journal of Philosophy of the University of Murcia, 25 years old (04/11/2014)

On Wednesday, November 5, at 18 am, will be held in the Hall at the Faculty of Law, a round table commemorating the 25th anniversary of the Journal of Philosophy Daimon, published by the Department of Philosophy University of Murcia, considered since 2008 landmark publication by the Academic Society for Philosophy of Spain.

The presentation will be given by José Luis Villacañas, professor at the Complutense University of Madrid and founder of the publication;

José Luis Moreno tab, University of Cadiz;

Antonio Campillo Meseguer, Director of the Magazine, and Emilio Martinez Navarro, Secretary.

Preside Jose Orihuela Calatayud, Rector of the University of Murcia.

Participants will discuss the evolution of the magazine, its achievements and challenges, analyzing their potential in the context of communication forms of philosophy.

The Daimon magazine was created in June 1989 by the Department of Philosophy at the University of Murcia, José Luis Villacañas proposal and replace the old Annals of Philosophy.

From 1992-2010, he was directed by Eduardo Bello.

From 2011 he was elected director of the Dean, Faculty of Philosophy dde Antonio Campillo.

The Daimon journal has been recognized as the 2014 magazine FECYT excellence.

During these 25 years, he has published 62 numbers and 4 supplements a

1000 articles and over 500 reviews.

It is indexed in the major databases of scientific journals and publishes three issues per year in both paper and electronic edition FOSS: http://revistas.um.es/daimon

Daimon: Philosophy as passion

Ran June 1989 when it appeared at the University of Murcia, published by the Publishing Service, journal of Philosophy Daimon, its founder, Professor Villacañas claimed in his presentation that "No dogmatic concept of philosophy will be defended in these pages" .

He added that this genius, master of philosophy, "softly illuminates this shyly, nonchalance and irony," this is precisely "the spirit that comes this magazine" claimed.

Advocated Professor Villacañas overcome philosophy as legitimizing center of consciousness, and seeing "a passion among many waving men" while defending the university spirit of the new publication, "Where, outside college, you can find the opportunity to exercise the slow time it takes the reflection?
