The UCAM inaugurated this morning the 45th Spanish Congress on Acoustics 'Tecniacústica 2014' (29/10/2014)

Acoustic, This is the word that sounds today on the campus of the Catholic University of Murcia, which will host next Friday the 45th Spanish Congress on Acoustics 'Tecniacústica 2014'.

About 200 people from various parts of the national territory and several European countries have gathered this morning at the Temple of the Monastery of Jeronimos to inaugurate this event which allows knowing the latest developments in this field, every day is present in the technological development of our society.

The symposium is organized by the Spanish Acoustical Society (SEA), which was represented by its president, Antonio Pérez-López;

the Portuguese Acoustical Society, led by its president Jorge Patricio;

Group Research and Advanced Telecommunications (SCREAM) and UCAM Degree in Telecommunication Systems, through Professor Juan Miguel Navarro.

The inaugural event also involved the rector of UCAM Research, Estrella Nunez;

the secretary general of the Spanish Society of Acoustics, Antonio Calvo;

and director of the Institute of Technical Acoustics at RWTH Aachen University (Germany), member of the International Commission on Acoustics, Michael Vorländer.

They have excelled during the opening ceremony has undergone significant development this discipline in universities, especially the proliferation of masters, and the importance it has acquired in modern society disciplines such as environmental sound or smart cities.

Inaugural Conference

Professor Aalto University in Helsinki (Finland) and world leader in acoustical enclosures simulation, Lauri Savioja, has been commissioned to give the inaugural lecture, entitled 'Room acoustics modeling: past, present and the future', and which outlined his vision of the future in virtual reality environments and 3D.

Smart Cities

During the morning session, and within the Congress, will be the celebration of the European Symposium on Intelligent Cities and Environmental Acoustics.

It will include speakers from the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment, as well as pioneering smart cities as Florence, Murcia, Malaga, Valencia and Santander who will discuss the latest advances in the assessment of noise in cities, famous soundmaps.

Note the involvement of the Department of Environment of the City of Murcia will present the new ordinance to protect the environment against the emission of noise and vibration.
