The implementation of projects and joint academic activities is the subject of international cooperation agreement signed today at the Rector of the University of Murcia between it, the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) and the University of TIFARITI the Primara college created in the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic.
The Vice Chancellor Coordination and Internationalization of the University of Murcia, Bernardo Cascales, promoter of the agreement, said during the signing of the agreement that it includes the development of studies and research of interest to both parties and the implementation of training activities and fellowships for the Saharawi University.
The rector of the University of Tifariti Jatari Hamoudi, who was accompanied by the Minister of Cooperation of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, Brahim Mokhtar, and the chief of the Saharawi people in the Region of Murcia, Mohamed Labat, after showing his gratitude people, he referred to the help Murcia public universities can provide for training of teachers, infrastructure, mobility of students and research.
Meanwhile, the governing UPCT Jose Antonio Franco, recalled that this cooperation is part of the Campus of Excellence project Mare Nostrum, which has among its vocation of being a campus border.
Finally, in his speech, the president of the University of Murcia, José Orihuela, highlighted the long and fruitful relationship that has existed between the Saharawi people and Murcia public universities and their willingness to deepen cooperation formalized today.
The agreement is part of the days of Saharawi culture, held these days at the University of Murcia in UPCT and other towns in the region.
