Ginés Torrano receives a tribute to commemorate the 65th anniversary of his debut in the Romea (15/10/2014)

Rotary Club Murcia North Murcia organizes a tribute to tenor and newly appointed Son of the City of Murcia, Ginés Torrano.

A tribute, characterized by solidarity which seeks praise and recognize the figure of one of the most important artists to come out of Murcia.

To do this, the 5th of November at 20:30, the Teatro Romea fill their seats of friends and admirers of the tenor.

Artists Antonio Carlos Moreno (Tenor), Victor del Castillo (Baritone), Jose Ramirez (Soprano), Balbina Serna (pianist-accompanist) Manuel Valencia (pianist-accompanist), the Coral Discantus the Choir Murciano Fernández Caballero, Marty ( Pop), and Marina Torrano Ibáńez (soprano), thanking the teaching act that has been his teacher.

The ticket prices range between 12 and 20 euros and will be on sale at the box office Romea Theatre as well as on its website.

The profits will go to the association of rare diseases and Neri Dgenes Association charity.

Thus Murcia North Rotary also aims to recognize the figure of an artist of the stature of Ginés Torrano give solidarious the event and support those who need it most.

Ginés Torrano Soler was born in Murcia in 1929 in a humble family.

Youngest of six children, age 9 goes to work as a carpenter apprentice mechanic.

I was twelve when forming the "Trio Torrano" singing repertoires Jorge Negrete and Carlos Gardel.

In one of these actions hears him sing Manuel Massotti Littel (Professor of the Conservatory of Music of Murcia), who sees Ginés wonderful for singing and music.

With the praise of this great musician Murcia, his parents decide to leave a cabinetmaker and studied at the conservatory of music.

As well as tenor soloist enters in the Choir Fernández Caballero.

In March 1949 debut at the Teatro Romea Murcia hand of his master Massotti Littel as principal tenor opera Cavalleria Rusticana in with tremendous success.

In 1952 he moved to Madrid to study at the Royal Conservatory of Music, the first ending with "end of career" award unanimously.

In February 1955 he moved to Rome to study with a grant from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, pursuing studies in Rome in the hands of world famous tenor Giacomo Lauri-Volpi, and they start their performances in Rome, Florence, Naples .. .

Since then his performances have been innumerable, both in the most prestigious theaters, radio and television worldwide.

He is Professor (retired) of Music and Performing Arts on merit, specializing in Singing the Conservatories of Music and Theatre Schools and Dance in Malaga and Murcia.

It has been folklore collector Murcia editing work on Murcia traditional music: "Dance Typical of the Region of Murcia."

Among the many awards that have been granted are:

.- Cross of the Civil Order of Alfonso X the Wise, granted in 1978 by King Juan Carlos I
