Children learn by playing the importance of washing hands (15/10/2014)

As simple as washing hands with soap and water gesture may be key to the survival of millions of people.

This is what UNICEF and the Department of Development Cooperation seeks to understand children involved in the activities today on World Handwashing Day.

230 children between 1 and 6 of primary school Cierva Peñafiel involved in this campaign, which involves painting of murals with finger paint, soap bubbles, customize solidarity water droplets and sing and dance with Lunnis.

Unicef ​​teaches children the song Wash hands Lunnis as these children's characters are Ambassadors UNICEF Spanish Committee.

Unicef ​​in Murcia encouraged the nearly 200 centers participating in the Get Involved program, educational program UNICEF Spanish Committee (www.enredate.org), this methodological approach to work.

The Global Handwashing Day is commemorated on 15 October.

The public-private Global Partnership for Handwashing with Soap initiated this day in 2008, and is supported by governments, international institutions, civil society organizations, NGOs, private companies and-citizens, worldwide.

The lack of clean water, sanitation and hygiene kills 1,400 children under five every day, so one of the most effective ways to save lives is that children wash their hands with soap.

Wash hands before eating and after using the toilet reduces the likelihood of serious diseases, and produce health benefits and well-being of children and their families worldwide.
