The introduction of the tram will take two platforms and public transport tram next to each sidewalk, leaving two center lanes for movement of vehicles, one of which will be shared roadway bicycle

In the extension of the tram from El Carmen Plaza Circular to the overhead catenary was removed and replaced by a system power supply APS floor under the tram platform.

Thus, in addition to reducing the visual impact, the passage of emergency vehicles is ensured while the tram is made compatible with cultural and festive events and parades.

Although the tram substantially improve traffic throughout the area of influence, the Gran Vía is the great benefit because, for decades, is enduring an intense traffic of both private vehicles and public transport buses with levels of very high air and noise pollution.

The introduction of the tram is a historic opportunity to change this situation and to make the Gran Via a friendly and satisfactory urban space.

The extension of Line 1 tram will be an important decrease in the use of private cars and a large change in the modal split model where the share of public transport in the current mechanized travel would increase from 15.1% to 24.83%.

In the coming weeks this feasibility study will be exposed publicly, so that Murcia to contribute their feedback, ideas and suggestions, the limit is two months instead of one as is established.
