Early intervention programs in hospitals in premature infants significantly improve your mental health, according to one of the conclusions of the doctoral thesis at the Faculty of Psychology at the University of Murcia for Jessica Piñero Peñalver.
The study, which has been rated as outstanding cum laude, notes that it has been found that children undergoing early interventions at different times during the first 18 months of life had not only a favorable mental evolution throughout the period evaluated, but the level of progress in the first quarter was higher than the non-intervened.
The dissertation also says that such interventions on children and families, both in hospitals and in the child development centers produce positive effects on their immediate and medium-term development.
To carry out this research, the author analyzed a sample of 52 preterm infants who were treated during both entry into the Neonatal Unit of Hospital General Universitario de Elche (Alicante), and then at the Centre for Development Child Care and Early city.
This dissertation was directed by Professor of the University of Murcia Julio Pérez López and professor at the Federal University of Parana-Curitiba (Brazil) Tatiana de Sa Riechi Jaworski.
