A firm commitment to volunteering (01/10/2014)

A highly rewarding work.

So define the 500 volunteers from the Catholic University of Murcia volunteer work developed last year in one of the forty associations and institutions with which the University works.

Moreover, this total must be added the volunteers who participated in 24 activities of international cooperation, such as Campus jobs in Peru, developing the institution for years.

"The Catholic University of Murcia gives us a joy to see how young people are willing to share your time and your life with those who have difficulty," said the Vice Chancellor of University Extension UCAM, and director of the International Institute of Charity and Volunteering John Paul II, Antonio Alcaraz.

These data demonstrate the strong implication that the institution maintains Murcia with underprivileged.

The UCAM has partnerships with regional Children's Home Daughters of Charity, Fundown Murcia, AMUPHED, Jesus Forsaken, Manos Unidas, Servants of Jesus, or Acifad Astrapace, among others;

likewise, we must add to these, Caritas Spanish (also Cartagena, Ourense, Orihuela and Granada), ADIS Vega Baja, Prolibertas Foundation, Residency Our Lady of the Abandoned (Orihuela), or Residence Lady of Remedy (Alicante).

Training for volunteers

Volunteers are trained on two levels: general, by the UCAM, showing them the value of volunteering activity, and the rights and duties in its development;

and more specifically, the volunteer receives the necessary knowledge in schools and associations in which you work.

Furthermore, the Catholic University of Murcia has a catalog of titles with the Master in Social Development;

specialization, which is taught in online mode, and aims to become advanced and comprehensive persons performing work in this area thus preparing them professionally to perform various tasks in the field of volunteering;

management, and evaluating resources and social development projects, or the analysis and research of social problems.
