Murcia City Council is launching a charity project repair, recovery and donation of bicycles (29/09/2014)

Murcia City Council, through the departments of Environment, Welfare and Security, launches Recicleta Project, a charity project that consists in developing a repair, recovery and donation of bicycles.

The Municipal Office of the bike, which belongs to the Department of Environment, adds value, with a goal of solidarity, a total of 21 bikes that were in the tank of the local police in Murcia, for tuning and donation people who may need them in different groups at risk of exclusion, through collaboration with NGOs.

Thus contributing to the improvement of its urban mobility.

The partner organizations are: Coordinator neighborhoods of El Palmar, CEPAIM Foundation Columbares Association Meeting Point Association, Project Abraham, Jesus Forsaken Foundation Board and Caritas.

With this new initiative, Murcia continues to implement its Master Plan for the Use of the Bicycle, in addition to continued participation in the promotion of integration programs and social work.

With all Recicleta project can also work in a caring in this initiative.

From the Municipal Office of the bike to all persons interested, having any bike that does not use, or no longer need, to donate to the people who can do them much good is invited.

The process carried out by the local police in Murcia before leaving the warehouse bikes follows:

- From the moment the bike comes to the police, remains on deposit for a period of approximately two months.

- If after this period, the bicycle remains in police custody, is declared abandoned vehicle, the owner is notified (in the case of knowledge of it) and is published in the BORM.

- In the case that judicial proceedings, the judge will rule on the fate of the bike.

The Bike Warehouse is structured into five categories according to the type of bikes.
