Grows hotel occupancy in the town during the summer months (26/09/2014)

Hotel occupancy has increased in the months of July, August and September up to the 15-day in the town 16.8% compared to the same months of 2013 These data reflect the good results they are giving campaigns put into launched by the Department of Tourism with developments in Murcia beaches and surrounding provinces, hotels brochures, billboards, dissemination of tourist packages, newsletter on developments and resorts, city promotion in magazines, etc.

Employment in Township hotels during July was 44.45%, 6.06% more than in 2013;

36.76% in August, 9.5% more than last year;

and during the first half of September, coinciding with the Feria de Murcia, one of 55.18% 33.67% higher than in 2013 Councillor for Tourism, Miguel Cascales, indicated that although Murcia does not have a tourism sun and sand, more and more people choose to holiday in Murcia know.

Besides the increase in overnight stays, there has been an increase of 2.66% in the price of the hotels, the average for July, August and September, at 43.22 euros / night.

Cascales has presented these data accompanied by the Manager, Convention Bureau, Ramón Palazón and Chair of Collaborating Partners Convention Bureau, Jesus Pacheco, to celebrate tomorrow the World Tourism Day.

In addition, during this holiday, the Department of Tourism presented the guide BTT Murcia in which six cycling routes are collected by regional paque-Carrascoy Valley, a major scenic and environmental sites in the region.

The guide is published in English and Spanish and has created a website where you can also see www.rutasBTTmurcia.es.

The routes are mainly for mountain bikes (MTB) and includes a road book, map / sketch with a detailed profile and route waypoints to GPS, as well as practical tips and information of interest to the user.

The proposed routes have a length of between 12 and 29 kilometers and are fully track cycling, including among other things, the rooster, the Lunar Landscape, and the Majal Blanco Garruchal with cultural references as the Sanctuary of Fuensanta Ermita de la Luz and the remains of Muslim castles in the Light and the Asomada.

Miguel Cascales explained that this guide has been produced in collaboration with Juan Francisco Cerezo, President of the Geographical Society of the Region of Murcia, with the aim of promoting understanding and enjoyment of the natural park El Valle-Carrascoy included in Natura 2000.

The MTB bicycle tour is a suitable alternative for the natural environment and enjoy its beautiful landscape, flora and fauna as well as contributes to the respect of the environment and promoting bicycle use.

The guidelines have been specifically designed for MTB bike but are also useful for walkers as set out in detail the routes to follow with plenty of indications and practical tips for your journey.
