The mayor and the president of the Hydrographic Confederation, which met this morning, agree on the need for this infrastructure to mitigate the consequences caused by torrential rains.
The action will solve the problems caused by occasional episodes of storms in Espinardo, the strut, Churra, head of Torres and Zarandona.

This has been the focus of the meetings held this morning by the mayor, Miguel Angel House, and the president of the Hydrographic Confederation of Segura, Miguel Angel Ródenas who have addressed the need to expedite these works.
The Special Plan for Water Infrastructure in the Northern Zone of Murcia, promoted by the Municipality and the Segura basin, aims to solve the problems caused when heavy rains occur in the northern districts of Murcia, especially in Espinardo The strut, Churra and Cabeza de Torres.
To avoid these situations, a stormwater interceptor system, an underground water structure which aims to collect water from the wadis before it reaches the city and channel it in a controlled manner to pour the Segura River, was designed along nearly seven kilometers of pipeline from the Rambla del Carmen to the Segura River.
Building on the development of the commercial areas of the north, a stretch of stormwater interceptor was built east of the avenue, with a length of 450 meters.
In recent years we have executed three sections of the Special Plan for Water Infrastructure in the Northern Zone, corresponding to the area of ​​economic and commercial activity, and two sections on the North Coast, including Juan Carlos I and Juan de Borbón, funded City Council with a cost of 8 million euros.
Works in the River Segura
Camera and Ródenas have also used the meeting to discuss the state of the dredging works being carried out in the Hydrographic Confederation of Segura urban channel to improve the hydraulic capacity of the river channel passing through the city.
