Schoolchildren learn to grow in safety (24/09/2014)

With this initiative, students learn to identify bad habits in their daily lives, such as back problems caused by improperly carrying backpack or sitting in a bad position on class

The goal is to instill students 5th grade routines and habits to incorporate appropriate preventive life concepts, so that when they become workers or entrepreneurs have rooted this knowledge.

This is called the annual "grows in security" competition, sponsored by the Department of Labor, through the Institute of Safety and Health industrial one- and Ministry of Education, Culture and Universities, in collaboration with the city of Murcia.

The Mayor, Miguel Ángel Cámara, delivered this morning prizes to 15 winners of the local phase of the drawing contest which involved 40 Primary Schools in the municipality of Murcia.

The event, held at the Plenary Hall, has been attended by the Councillor for Education Lola Sanchez, director general of labor, Fernando Vélez, and the director of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health, Maria Angeles Villanueva.

The contest received jobs that have left students embodied any facts related to the prevention of risks to safety and health in all aspects of life but, in particular, in the environment in which they operate.

To do this, prevention professionals to schools moved to provide briefings for teachers and students, explaining colloquially usual accidents to which we are exposed (burns, falls down stairs, poisoning, slip in the shower, endangered stoves ... ..), emphasizing back problems caused by poor posture in the chair and the wrong way to carry the backpack.

It was distributed among the students a comic bulleted situations of daily life structured in three blocks: house, street and school, wrongdoing that children should be identified, and an interactive game projected on the whiteboard, the school said the commenting errors between whole class potential risks and prevention.
