Pelegrin opens this evening in Murcia meeting of the European Network Against Poverty (18/09/2014)

The Deputy Mayor for Social Welfare and Health, María del Carmen Pelegrin, received this afternoon at 19.45 delegations Seminar Participation 'Empowering for transformation: citizen initiatives', organized by the European Network for Combating Poverty and social exclusion in the Spanish State (EAPN - ES) in collaboration with EAPN of Murcia.

The meeting, in which more than 130 beneficiaries of NGO projects in Spain participating, aims to analyze the impact of public policies on poverty and social exclusion of millions of people, compounded by the economic and financial crisis .

The delegations will be received at 19.45 by the Deputy Mayor and Minister of Social Welfare and Health of the City of Murcia, Maria del Carmen Pelegrin and be present President EAPN Spain, Carlos Susías and President of EAPN in the Region of Murcia, Jesús Salmerón.

Reception in the City Council delegations moved to the footbridge Malecón (the Plane esplanade San Francisco) at 20.15 for a poetic act of awareness.

The seminar is designed as a space for participation and debate on how the public, individually and / or collectively, is developing experiences and actions which focus on the ability of individuals, the value of the group, the importance of community, demonstrating the existence of different criteria than those that are founded on social justice, equality, sustainability and social cohesion formulas.

Housing, employment, education and health are the main axes of this meeting will also be attended by important personalities from the social economy, sustainable development and the media, as Juan Luis Cano, the Gomaespuma Foundation.
