The Mobility Week held this afternoon workshop on Self-managed Bicycle Repair and Recicleta initiative (17/09/2014)

Murcia is already immersed in the celebration of the European Mobility Week 2014, held until September 22.

Following the conclusion of the first day with the "Day of Monte Clean" initiative, now it is the turn of other activities that will develop in the cab of the Plaza de Santo Domingo and the Central Artillery Barracks, which has first introduced a program of activities of the Department of Environment, directed Adela Martinez-Cache.

The activities that will be developed throughout the day are:

Seal of Quality: Bike-Friendly Cities.

The Artillery Barracks Center (Halls 1 and 2), will become a center with quality seal bikefriendly during EMW 2014 The intention is to offer easy solutions to parking, setup and alternatives to the need for citizens to move bicycle because a city bike tour is not the same as doing it on another means of transport.

In-Bike-Art!

Alternative & Creative Design Cycle.

Throughout the week, and within activities in the Artillery Barracks, is a proposed activity that will create designs to park bikes, creating spaces that provide a safe and orderly storage of bicycles.

The intention is to transform public spaces into green spaces, which can be used in the back gardens, balconies, gardens and other places.

Another initiative is to develop, under the slogan "Give life to your old bike!" The Recicleta Project, which are launched 5 Rs: "Recycle, Reuse, Reduce, Repair and Regular."

From the organization to all interested persons who have bikes that do not use or no longer need to approach the Plaza de Santo Domingo, where they can make a donation of the same, through collaboration with various NGOs, people are invited belonging to groups at risk of exclusion that may need them.

Self-managed Bicycle Repair Shop.

Free bike workshop held from 18:00 to 21:00, Calle Basabé-Plaza de Santo Domingo, thanks to the local bike shops and Bicitaller Con2Pedales Nomad and Murcia Cycling Association.
