The Mayor highlights the work in defense of equality and progress in Bolivia performed by Archbishop Jesús Juárez Murcia (12/09/2014)

The Mayor, Miguel Ángel Cámara, delivered this morning to the Archbishop of Sucre, Bishop Jesus Juarez Parraga, the title of Son of the City of Murcia, a recognition of the splendid work that solidarity has developed in recent years in favor of needy and spreading the name Murcia throughout the planet.

The Archbishop of Sucre Stables was born in July 22, 1942 Is Salesian religious.

He studied in Spain, Bolivia and Germany.

He was ordained priest on 16 December 1972 It's degree in Theology.

Since 1977 remains in Bolivia.

The June 18, 1988 he was ordained bishop.

It was Auxiliary Bishop of La Paz from 1988 to 1994, he was appointed Bishop of El Alto.

In the Bolivian Episcopal Conference has been secretary general from 1991 to 1994 and from 2003 to 2009 and has chaired various episcopal commissions such as the Pastoral Social Caritas and Prison Ministry.

On February 2, 2013, Pope Benedict XVI named him archbishop of Sucre again.
