The University of Murcia, knowing the death of Emilio Botin, chairman of Banco Santander, wishes to express its condolences to the family and all the staff thereof by which means loss of a personality of international stature and great patron.
The University of Murcia, which is attached to the bank through a collaboration agreement, want to recognize the dedication and willingness of Booty in favor of it, translated into innumerable funding educational, cultural and research activities and scholarships aimed students.
Booty's passing is a great loss for the Spanish public university, which has always dump, financing their activities, promoting its goals and support its role as an institution aimed at promoting education, culture and research.
The president of Banco Santander was at the University of Murcia on several occasions;
the last, in May 2012, to chair the General Meeting of Shareholders of Universia, the largest network of universities in Spanish and Portuguese, consisting of more than 1,200 academic institutions in 23 countries.
