The building of the Rectory of the University of Murcia has hosted the awards ceremony of the IX Short Story Competition, organized by the International Relations of the educational institution and sponsors the CC Thad 10,000 euros and is aimed at students participating in Erasmus exchange program.
The first prize (3,000 euros), which aims to ease the financial burden of college on your stay abroad and encourage the literary vocation among them, went to Kaiss Tahery Seyed Mahmoud, School of Optometry whose destination is the Latvijas UniversitÄte Erasmus (Latvia).
The student of the Faculty of Communication and Documentation Conesa Jeanette Walls, who has won the second prize, worth 2,500 euros, Erasmus made his stay in Poland, in Uneversytet Wroclawski.
The third has been granted Alvaro Sanchez Ballester, Faculty of Economics and Business, will receive 2,000 euros and will study at the University of Lisbon (Portugal).
Finally, Maria Martinez Solaeche, student of the Faculty of Letters, bound for Manchester Metropolitan University (UK), and Maria Pina Funes, student of the Faculty of Biology and studied at the University of the Azores (Portugal), complete the fourth and fifth prize, with 1,500 and 1,000 euros, respectively.
During the ceremony, Javier Román, representative of CC Metrovacesa and Thad, thanked the support that the University of Murcia to the proposed offering of the company and has reaffirmed the intention of continuing this literary contest.
Meanwhile, the rector of the University, José Orihuela, had words of greeting for students, "the engine of this competition," he said, and has expressed the desire to have more such initiatives for college.
A delivery was attended, along with members of the jury, the Vice Chancellor for Coordination and Internationalization, Bernardo Cascales, and the head of International Relations, Matías Balibrea.
