6,600 children have participated this year in the 95 summer schools have been developed in 66 public schools in the municipality.
Education Councilwoman Maria Dolores Sánchez, highlighted the functioning of these schools and the satisfaction that parents have shown.
Summer schools have been organized by the AMPAS schools, the Department of Social Welfare, Social Services (Project Activities with Children and Caixa Proinfancia-PAI program), Department of Culture and the Neighborhood Association Bacons Bridge.
The City contributes to the transfer of the centers, facilitates the use of schools located in the same area that AMPAS and other groups to organize and plan activities together, using schools on a rotating basis and getting value for money (cleaning , monitoring, etc).
They also contribute to the concilición of work and family life and allow children the same age from different schools relate.
With this system to share facilities has saved this summer opening 29 centers.
In addition to recreational activities and sports and free time, have conducted small craft workshops and activities in English.
Each school has a theme like the circus, the Olympics, the theater, etc.
The 95 schools that have been organized in 66 public schools were:
-59 Summer schools organized by AMPAS in 35 centers.
-35 Summer schools organized by municipal services in 34 centers (30 of Social Services, Social Welfare 1 and 4 of Cultural Centers).
-1 Summer school in which 7 schools organized by the Association of Residents participate Bacons Bridge.
