Councillors Union, Progress and Democracy in the city of Murcia, Juan Ruben Serna and José Antonio Sotomayor, along with local training coordinator magenta, Manuel Baeza, visited the facilities of Municipal Zoonosis Control Center for more detailed work carried out with the animals of the municipality, especially dogs and cats.
As explained Sotomayor, who is also the regional manager of Agriculture UPyD, "frankly we were impressed by the good work that is done face to animal welfare and adoption policy" developed by center officials.
Also, the mayor of Murcia UPyD encourages citizens of the municipality "to adopt the animals that occupy the Zoonosis Centre" since "these dogs and cats deserve a second chance and all the work and support is poor" .
Finally, Sotomayor recalled that the national government last a Framework Law on the protection of companion animals, precisely UPyD proposal.
The new law aims to reduce the dropout rate of pets and therefore upgrade the penalties for animal abuse and neglect, disabling offenders for possession, among other measures.
