Two University professors participating in a study of rock art in Neanderthals (03/09/2014)

The professors of the University of Murcia and Jose Carrion Santiago Fernández participated in a scientific paper on the first evidence of rock art in Neanderthals.

The study results are published in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS).

According to the study results, which have spoken Spanish and foreign scientists, a cave in Gibraltar has the first abstract design done intentionally by Neanderthals has been found so far.

It is eight deep marks on the rock and appear crossed by two groups of three and two short lines.

The various dating techniques used by scientists to rock on which are leading to the conclusion that must be made about 40,000 years ago.
