The improvement and maintenance works carried out by the Department of Education during the summer months in the town schools are executed 99%.

Education Councilwoman Maria Dolores Sanchez, explained that some are failing to deliver any documents and recepcionarse, and that all will be completed and clean schools for the start of the school year, on 8 September.

The work was carried out in 25 schools with a investment of 778,000 euros.

Among the works performed is replacement of pavement, repairs in the woodwork, fix cracks on walls, cleaning of downspouts and roofing, waterproofing, exterior paint and interior repair steps, repair of metal joinery work the sewerage system, installation of non-slip strips on floors and steps, fencing repairs, stormwater system improvement and repair coating walls and baseboards.

The schools in which are carrying out the work are: Monteazahar (Beniaján), Our Lady of Fuensanta (Beniaján), Carolina Codorniu Bosch (Churra) Urruti Pérez (Churra), La Cruz (El Esparragal), José María Párraga (El Palmar), Los Rosales (El Palmar), Maestro Enrique Laborda (Dolores), Torreteatinos (El Raal), Juan XXIII (Monteagudo), Mariano Aroca (Murcia), Our Lady of Peace (Murcia), Nicholas Peñas (Murcia), San Juan (Murcia), San Pablo (Murcia), Pablo Gil Castillo (Sangonera la Seca), San Jose de la Montana (Sangonera la Seca), The Boqueras (Santiago and Zaraiche), Our Lady of Bethlehem (James and Zaraiche), Holy Angel (Holy Angel), Arteaga (Sucina), Félix Rodríguez de la Fuente (Murcia), Ramón Gaya (Bacons Bridge), Nuestra Señora de Atocha (Santiago and Zaraiche) and Virgen de las Maravillas (The Martínez del Puerto).

Among the main works is the demolition of the staircase at school Monteazahar (Beniaján), and construction of a new one.

The CEIP Mariano Aroca (Murcia) toilets have been constructed in Halls D, 6 and 7 in the CEIP Maestro Enrique Laborda (Dolores) have arranged courtyards and skylights have been replaced.

The CEIP Arteaga (Murcia) has changed the pit sanitation.

In addition, heating was installed in the centers Félix Rodríguez de la Fuente, Virgin Wonderland and Ramón Gaya (Bacons Bridge).

Maria Dolores Sanchez recalled more than a year has used the summer to overhaul public schools in the town and continue to provide quality facilities.
