The municipal Traffic has begun installing in Santiago El Mayor three pedestrian crossings regulated by traffic lights in Mulberry Street to the intersection of General Ortín Street, near the Sports and Health Centre, in response to a request from the Federation of Neighborhood Associations of the Municipality of Murcia supported by the Neighborhood Council.
The council directed Iniesta Javier designed this facility to regulate traffic in the area and make it compatible with the passage of pedestrians crossing giving the as seamlessly as possible but always giving priority to road safety.
At this intersection there and pedestrian crossings;
so that this action is intended to regulate the movement of vehicles and provide a safer passage for pedestrians.
To this solution traffic lights will be installed in the three existing pedestrian passages controlled by a controller that is configured to have three phases at the intersection so that pedestrians have an exclusive time step and vehicles can make the turns, both clockwise as leftist movements without incompatibility.
The deadline for completion of works is estimated at two months.
The budget of the project is worth a total amount of € 30,487.22.
