The implementation of electronic invoicing will save the City of Murcia 400,000 per year (31/07/2014)

The Department of Finance has already launched the Accounting Information System of the City of Murcia (SICAM) 80 municipal services, 59 districts and 8 districts electronically processed and your expenses 700 people have been trained in recent months

Transparency in expenditure management, flexibility in the procedures, elimination of paper as a carrier of information, compliance with the legal framework for electronic bills and reduced average payment to suppliers.

These are the main target of Accounting Information System of the City of Murcia (SICAM), already implemented since 14 July.

The incorporation of the City of Murcia to the new economic and financial program, whose investment amounts to 600,000 euros, will allow the following functions:

- 80 city services, 59 districts and 8 districts electronically processed expenses.

- 275 positions with certificates for electronic signing of documents.

- 420 users servicers proposals and invoices electronically.

- Electronic Processing 120 invoices per day, 30,000 annual forecast.

The implementation of the system is an effort assuming all City staff.

Under the direction of the technicians of the Department of the Treasury, directed Isabel Martinez Conesa, it has trained nearly 700 people, including councilors, all to pursue implementation of the program as quickly and accurately as possible.

This new program includes, among other improvements, electronic bill payment providers Hall, mostly SMEs, thus reducing the average payment period.

In the tax area, the management and collection procedures that may be made by electronic processing, in order to avoid displacement and indirect costs to the city will be expanded.

In this sense, and according to the forecast, the city of Murcia save an average of nearly 400,000 euros, to remove the paper in the management of their expenses.

It also provides for the elimination of some 300,000 documents, what this means for reducing paper waste, personal, printers, and custody, etc..

The implementation of this new program but also substantially enhance collaboration between government and public bodies for the implementation of telecommunication systems, which will reduce formal obligations to citizens in their relations with the city of Murcia.
