The Municipal Library Network, made up of 17 centers, offering a wide program of activities in which more than 5,000 people have participated September 2013 to June 2014.
One of the main proposals are the 14 book clubs that are held in 12 libraries.
Last year, two new groups were incorporated in the Library of The Club Dumas Nora and Reading in the Segura River Library.
Furthermore, in order to promote reading among the population have launched two initiatives readable for people with disabilities in San Basilio and Santiago el Mayor libraries in collaboration with Astrapace and Assido.
The library users also enjoy encounters with writers who submit their books and discuss their work as María Dueñas, Ruben Castillo, Jerome Tristante, Marisa Lopez Soria, Paco López Mengual, Santiago Delgado, Mariano Vicente de Haro, Lola Lopez Mondejar, Juan David Sánchez Álvarez and Florio.
It also held a Tribute to Vicente Medina in the Segura River Library.
The exhibits also come to the municipal libraries.
During the past year have been able to see the samples 'Teachers of the Republic' and 'Inheritance paper' (assigned by the Regional Library of Murcia) and 'Sophia, who loved music cow' (of Gijón) .
The libraries hold special activities to mark World Book Day.
On this occasion, the Library organized Espinardo 'One night stories' and the Library of El Carmen held 'El Carmen account', with performances of traditional stories.
To these must be added other proposals as cineforum, storytelling, group visits school libraries, rakes books, classical music (in collaboration with the Association Musicalberk) Christmas stories and Competition, among others.
All activities will be further developed during the new year 2014/2015.
Also this year the 30th anniversary of the Library of La Alberca is celebrated with a large program of events including book clubs, storytelling, panel discussions and concerts.
